I was informed that Jeremy Silman recommended studying 90 master games in an opening you want to learn. Ideally avoid games that end in a draw and preferably with a rating difference. Quickly review each one to become familiar with typical pawn and piece placement. The point is to learn typical plans
So I tried that for one line I play and I have to say at least I have some ideas now how the games should go. Need to work to integrate that knowledge and make it personal

What did you play after 2. e5 and how did that game go?
I just continued with d5 and they play d4... so we get the advanced Caro Kann. That was usually turns out ok for me
